Jamie’s professional background encompasses over 20 years experience in sales, training and management.  She completed an Applied Science degree in 1992. She holds Texas Real Estate Broker’s License, Group I Insurance and Securities 6/63 Licenses. College studies included a focus on business and finance.

For 10 years Jamie’s professional career was in the weight loss industry as an area supervisor for Nutri-System and Jenny Craig. Much of her focus was on training and promoting as well as inventory and cost analysis. At Nutri-System, she developed and produced two television commercials.  While raising her children, she obtained her Texas Real Estate Sales License and Texas Real Estate Broker License.  During that time, she also managed investment properties. Jamie was Vice President/Banking Center Manager for BBVA Compass formerly Guaranty Bank in Kaufman for twelve years. She received the company’s highest award for top performing manager, the Michael J. Cornwall Award twice and has served on the President’s Advisory Board several years. Under her management, the banking center has ranked in the Top 5 out of 140 branches, seven out of the last eight years. Jamie is currently a licensed agent with Life Partners Inc., providing clients with superior yields and safe investment strategies.

She is most proud of her three sons DD, Sterling and Gerald.  Jamie adopted DD when he was 13 and homeless in Terrell. In today’s terminology, all the boys would be considered at-risk. They have overcome great odds; the two oldest boys have both graduated from SMU and Gerald, the youngest, has graduated from University of Mississippi on a football scholarship. Her sons have an awesome story that can motivate kids and adults alike through their unconditional love and commitment to sharing their lives with others.

Jamie is very involved in her community. She served on the board of The Greater Kaufman Chamber of Commerce for eight years.  She is a graduate of Leadership Kaufman County and has co-chaired the Chamber’s Tourism and Visitors Bureau Committees. She is a member and past treasurer of the Kaufman Heritage Society and has participated in fundraisers for United Way, Red Cross and March of Dimes.

About Brothers By Choice
Jamie was an at-risk child because of the loss of her mother during her teen years, and she has raised three children who became at-risk due to divorce and homelessness. Being an at-risk student transcends race, financial stability and church involvement.  Any child can become an at-risk student at any moment in their life and have virtually no skills to deal with catastrophic occurrences that are out of their control. Jamie’s passion and mission is to aid and help heal the at-risk child by giving them the tools to manage situations in their life now and in the future. Brothers By Choice is the vehicle for her to accomplish this life’s calling. Jamie believes to change the world we must start with the children as they are our future. Her goal is to spend the rest of her life changing the world one child at a time through the Brothers By Choice program and along the way inspire adults to do the same.

Each person has the potential to change someone’s life profoundly; Brothers By Choice is a perfect example of what kids have the potential to accomplish. You are never too young or to old to give another person your unconditional love. The life you change will be your own.
